Message Here are some more pictures of my car as it progresses at L-Con fabrication. Louie is an artist with metal, the best cage builder I have ever worked with. Amazing stuff.

This is the view showing the intergration of the main hoop into the unibody. All gussets are very thin 18 gauge sheetmetal and are dimple die punched out. They weigh almost nothing.

This is the detail of the roof with an X bar over the driver and erta side protection bars due to the long unsupported roofline that the Z suffers from.

A close up detail shot of the door X bar gusset shows L-Cons extream attention to detail and quality of construction.

Upper A pillar intergration

Lower A pillar intergration

The other side of the lower A Pillar. As I noted these gussets probably add less than 5 lbs to the total cage but improve strength and stiffness 100%

Additional rolover protection and intergration of bar with roof.

Gusset attatching cage to transmission tunnel.

Next week we will pull the engine and start the forward part of the cage that will triangulate the shock towers to the main cage.

The inner part of the cage will be done by then.

Interestinly and unfortunatly expensivly for me, the drivers side floor will have to be cut out and lowered. I am short, only 5'-8" and my head is only inches away from some of these bars and with my helmet on, touching the roof with the Sparco seat right on the floor. How do some of you guys with cages do it? Remove the T-Tops? I mean the rails are right on the floor! We are going to weld the seat mount tabs staright to the rails to gain an inch, then cut the floor and lower the whole floor about another inch. This still inst the greatest. What is everyone else doing?
